Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles and/or pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Contact us form submissions are held indefinitely so we can look back at previous queries if required and process them at a later date if needed.

Order form submissions are kept for a maximum of 30 days. We keep these for 30 days in case any safety concerns surrounding the food we have given up arise (e.g. an item is recalled), and we need to contact you because of this.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

You have the right for any order form or contact us form submissions to be removed from our records. You can exercise this right by emailing us on info@foodsave.org.uk.

You have the right to withdraw consent for us to process your data. You can exercise this right by emailing us on info@foodsave.org.uk, messaging us on Facebook or talking to a lead volunteer at one of our sessions.

If you have any complaints about how we handle your data, you have the right to raise a complaint with the ICO, and you can raise a complaint through their website: https://ico.org.uk/global/contact-us/

Where your data is sent

Your data is sent through the Google Gmail API as an email to ourselves, which allows us to access the order information easily. It may also be sent in an email to yourself if you have chosen to input your email address into our Order form for a confirmation email.

This is then passed onto a volunteer, who will use the information to pack your order, which then may be given to another volunteer to deliver your order.

This privacy policy is subject to change to reflect our growing operational needs.

As always if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us through our website, email, or Facebook page.
